AC Adapters

#1 Post by krcmd » Tue Oct 11, 2005 9:33 am

I am using a Kensington 70W universal adapter with my T43. No problems. However, the Kensington site says that the T43 requires a higher wattage supply, and there are dire warnings about damage to the computer from an incompatible supply.

I note that the Lenovo supply is rated at 72W.

What's the low down?

Is there any way to test for damage to my computer battery or internal power circuits?

Thanks to all

I do not think the 2W difference will make a difference. May be it will take slightly longer to charge your battery but there should not be a problem running the computer.

What's more important would be the output voltage. I am not an EE but I am sure someone with enough EE knowledge can confirm this.

Followup question...

Is it possibly to use my old T22 power bricks with a T43?

They are, I believe, 72watt units.
