15" Flexview outdoors (in direct sunlight)?
15" Flexview outdoors (in direct sunlight)?
Still a pipedream, or is it possible? Any better than the 14" at all? With my current laptop you can't even tell it's on if you try to use it outdoors during the day.

Re: 15" Flexview outdoors (in direct sunlight)?
Are you talking about direct sunlight on the screen and not being able to read it? If so, I don't think any laptop screen will or could compete with the sun. I would also worry about having my TP in the direct sun for any time as it would heat up to the point where you could not touch it.
I do sit on my dock by the St. Johns River in Jacksonville, not in direct sunlight, and use my laptop to surf the internet via wireless all the time. The screen has more than enough brightness to use in these conditions.

Yep is the 2373KXU. I live in San Jose on the St. Johns River. Been to Atlantic Beach, one of my favorite places to relax. Won't be going today, it will be hot and on the 4th all of Jax beaches will be full!
Took the boat out at sunrise today and it was smooth as glass.

I don't own ocean frontage, a boat or live near a lake - well, there is a river running through the town - however, I cannot for the life of me imagine why anyone would ever want to use their laptop in such extreme conditions. To me it's a bit like asking what are the best gloves to wear when using a TP in Alaska

In Spain I live at 5miles from the Atlantic. I do go to the beach (under the trees, not over the sand directly) to work with my laptop.
The sensation is like no other... seagulls, waves, sun, brezze... that is life!... then of course, October comes and in my region the rain will fall till May... Then I preffer Michigan and a good fireplace

X220t IPS but but a bit unhappy with it
T60p 2007-93U 1600x1200 IPS (T42p is an overall better machine though. Lack of new IPS Thinkpads keeps me buying these older models!)

There is one very comfortable chair sitting on the dock. Early in the morning it is quite nice on the river. I look most forward to my large mug of coffee and a hour or so to answer email and do the internet thing.ian wrote:I don't own ocean frontage, a boat or live near a lake - well, there is a river running through the town - however, I cannot for the life of me imagine why anyone would ever want to use their laptop in such extreme conditions. When I installed the Cisco Airnet 1200 wireless, my main intention was to be able to enjoy this in the morning. I get a 81% signal strength and it works quite well.
