Where is my HPA?

#1 Post by bluejamul » Fri Oct 14, 2005 8:27 pm

I bought my t42 used and since I had been unable to install R&R3, I tried to look at my HPA. I unhid it in the Bios and tried to see it with the adminstrative tools (XP Pro), Diskpart, etc. Nothing, one partition (C). It is a 40 gig HD and Explorer reports 40,007,729,152 bytes (37.2 GB). Is this normal? Did the previous owner delete the HPA? Or is there some other way to see if it is there? Thanks.
Happy T42 User

My computer mgmt tool on my t42 reports:

C:drive 32.89 GB NTFS

IBM_SERVICE: 4.37 Fat32

DISK 0: 37.26 GB

Oh yeah, my pre-desktop security is enabled. You might try re-enabling security and checking computer mgmt again.
