Access Connections

#1 Post by krosenstein » Sat Oct 15, 2005 5:05 pm

Access Connections starts automatically to log into my wireless network when I boot my T41. The problem is that often 2 separate windows open to show the login progress. Does anyone have a clue about why this happens and how to make it stop?

Thanks in advance.

Check under profile settings and location switching and turn off connections you don't want. You can always connect them manually. I have my home wireless checked, my default wired checked, and everything else unchecked. Seems to work fine. ... JD Hurst

You may want to also go to: Start > Connect To > Show all connections, then right-click on your wireless adapter. Choose > Properties > Wireless Networks tab, and make sure box is unchecked: "Use Windows to configure my wireless network settings".

jd - my setup is as you describe

GJ - I've never used Window to configure

Let me clarify - the windows that I'm referring to are progress windows for Access Connections, not WinXP

In that case, consider completely uninstalling Access Connections and all the profiles, restart, and re-install Access Connections.

I can't even use access connections anymore...for some reason it doesn't seem to work with my wifi card or something anymore. should I send it in for service?

An approach I use for Access Connections is as follows:
1. Uninstall Access Connections
2. Restart
3. Uninstall wireless card
4. Do not restart
5. Install wireless card
6. Restart
7. Before installing Access Connections, use Windows to see if one basic wireless connection works.
8. Install Access Connections and restart.
