T43:CD-RW/DVD drive tray auto-eject after being pushed in?

When I push in the ejected drive tray at the middle of the tray or at any single point of contact, the tray will eject again. I have to push in the tray at both ends using two fingers (along the width) of the tray for the tray not to auto-eject.

This may sound silly, but is this the norm for this model of drive?
