Differences between T21 and T23

#1 Post by wwwsempremeglioit » Mon Oct 17, 2005 4:05 pm

Hello everybody!
According to you, what's the differences between T21 and T23.
I think the only difference is Front Side Bus...100Mhz for T21 and 133Mhz for T23.
What's about video card? I know the card of T23 is 16MB...what's about the card of T21?
Do you own one of theese models?

Thanks a lot

T23 also supports up to 1GB of PC133 RAM; T21 only supports up to 512MB PC100 RAM.
T23 can support up to 1.2GHz P3; T21 up to 850MHz(?).
T23 has 16MB S3 SuperSavage graphics; T21 has 8MB S3 Savage graphics.
Some T23 have built-in wi-fi; T21 do not.
T23 has two USB 1.1 ports; T21 has one.

Between the two, get the T23 if there is not much of a price difference.

True...for some reason too the PC133 memory is cheaper than the PC100, so once you upgrade you may be paying less for the T23. I've used both and can tell a difference in speed and conveniences with the T23...for instance you can use a USB key to boot a T23 but you can't with a T22 or lower.

Of course I own a T23 and can tell you it's a great machine. Using it right now. (Then again I use most of the time since I got it). I was under the impression that the T23 can also support a 1400 x 1050 display whereas the T21 is stuck with 1024 x 768. Someone correct me if I am wrong on that.

Although a lot of the hardware is the same or will interchange, T23 TPs have a different mainboard design than the T20, T21 & T22 TPs. They use a later model Intel chipset and seem to have less mainboard failure problems.

If someone were shopping for a T2x series TP, I would recommend the T23 over the earlier models. It's probably second to the 600 series as far as reliability is concerned.
