keyboard, battery, OS question for a T43

On my new T43, I got an Alps keyboard

13N9926 13N9957 KEYBOARDS; FRU-KBD ALPS US ENGLISH ROHS YES

How does it compare with the Thai/NMB keyboard. All my other T42s have NMB.

Also I am getting the following battery:

92P1068 92P1069 MAIN BATTERY FRU, 9 CELL, PANASONIC YES

It seems the part number is different from what I ordered, i.e. 30R4957. Can someone explain the discrepancy?

I got a XP home installed as I will run Linux, If I ever want to run XP Pro, can I simply install from a std XPP CD and then install the thinkpad sw installer?

So you just got a new T43 with an ALPS KB, and all your other T42s have NMB. So, question to you, how does it compare?

I have the Alps keyboard. It feels good to me, but I'm a 35WPM kinda guy.
