Was hoping someone here could help me out...
I have an X40 Thinkpad that I'd like to dock in its X4 ultrabase when I'm at home. I have the ultrabase hooked up into my KVM switch so I can share my normal keyboard/mouse/monitor.
My keyboard and mouse are the Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop Pro (Wireless Natural Multimedia Keyboard and Wireless Intellemouse Explorer 2.0). Unfortunately the wireless mouse doesn't work with ultrabase. I'm using the correct PS/2 splitter for the ultrabase (before nothing worked). Oh and it has nothing to do with the KVM switch...I can plug directly in and again only the keyboard works.
Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks,
Jeff
Wireless mouse doesn't work with X40 in X4 Ultrabase dock
That's weird.
I have the same set sitting around here that I don't use anymore. I'll try it out on my X4 Dock and let you know if it works. I don't have the Ultrabase but it should be similar.
Stupid question, but did you press the Connect button on the mouse and receiver?
Anyway Ill try it later tonight and let u know if it works.

I finally gave up and dug out an old PS/2 mouse and plugged it in directly to the X4 ultrabase- both using the Y and directly in. It didn't work either way. I guess that bit removes the wireless mouse part from the equation. I just can't get a mouse to work period.
I'm going to try to reinstall the trackpoint drivers and see if that works. Trackpoint is supposed to automatically detect the mouse and switch between the two. (You can only have one active PS/2 mouse at a time.) If that doesn't work I'm gonna call IBM and have them send me out a replacement X4 Ultrabase. It could just be that the port is bad.
