Will Atheros wireless a/b/g work in T41?

#1 Post by krymson » Sun Oct 23, 2005 7:18 pm

I've setup a WLAN network at home with a Belkin Wireless G router capable of Super-G(108MB).

I plan to stream DivX and possibly DVD's over the network, so I need at least 802.11g, which my Intel 2100 card can't do. I looked into the Intel 2200b/g, but I figure I might as well take advantage of the router's Super-G and get an Atheros a/b/g/super-g Mini-pci card.

Now as a geek, this is kinda embarassing to ask, but will I be able to use the Atheros card in my T41?

I know they come branded by Lenovo in T43's but I've had a bad experience with an Atheros PC card on an R40 so I have to ask. Also, I'm going to be buying the card over eBay so I need to get it right the first time since I won't be able to return it.

So I looked in the tabook, which only goes back to the T41.

The Atheros a/b/g is listed as a wireless option on each page for the T41 versions, so it should be fine. The Cisco Aironet 802.11b is also listed on each page along with the intel 2100 of course.

The intel 2200 b/g is listed on the pages at the bottom in the part list, but not in the specs for each model, so I dunno what's up with that.
