Regarding the x32, 2ghz battery and heat output

Is there a significant differenece in batterylife/heat output for the 2ghz model of the x32 and the 1.7ghz? Im considering buying the 2ghz and underclocking it if i must.. That model is the only one avaliable and i cant wait much longer. Needed for school

it all runs at 600mhz when idle anyway.

what it does under dynamic scaling can be set to cap at a certain speed with NHC (notebook hardware control, formlerly known as centrino hardware control).
