FIX: Client Security Solution FLIES

There have been many comments on this board about how **slow** the client security solution is. If you appreciate the "two factor authentication" the software offers, it CAN run as fast as any other program.

The problem is that if you have an anti-virus program running, it will slow down the software and your machine with it. The solution is to open up your anti-virus program and specifically exclude both the ThinkVantage software folder (C:\Program Files\IBM ThinkVantage) AND the virtual disk drive (if you are using Ultimaco SafeGuard PrivateDisk) which is usually drive R:\.

Here is how I sped it up. I run Norton Anti-Virus. In the system tray, right-click on the norton anti-virus icon.

• Choose "Configure Norton Anti-Virus".
  Click "Auto Protect" button in upper left hand corner.
  Click "Exclusions"
  Click "New" button
  Add the file path C:\Program Files\IBM ThinkVantage
  Add the drive of your virtual disk (usually R:\)
  Click Ok and your done.
