how can I run 1280x1024 res. on 600x

#1 Post by mechano » Wed Oct 26, 2005 2:33 pm

I know that the display has physically 1024x768 pixels, but can I run at 1280x1024 resolution with a scrolling function. I have a program that only runs at 1280x1024.
Can I find a driver or a software for this ?

Thanks

Eren

External monitor would be my recommendation .. while you can run the higher res in virtual mode and scroll around, the application is not going to appreciate that very much and won't want to run.

Yes. You should be able to select a different monitor for your LCD, under Display Settings -> Monitor -- and one of the choices should be 1280x1024 LCD. Selecting this as your monitor will produce a virtual screen size of 1280x1024 and it will automatically scroll when you hit the edges of the screen. I think this will only allow 256 colours when you use this resolution.

For this to work correctly, you will defnitely need to have correctly installed Windoze 98SE/XP whatever, including the necessary LCD "inf" file from the Supplemental File diskette. You may also need the current video driver from IBM/Lenovo.

I don't know what kinds of compatibility issues you may run into with whatever program you are trying to run in this mode.

Phil.
