generic X31 batteries?

#1 Post by ibmuser » Mon Jul 05, 2004 6:37 pm

Any options for main X31 battery that is not an IBM product (ie. cheaper than the IBM one)? I notice the battery on my X31 is manufactured by Sanyo - any more generic options?

the one my x31 came with is made by panasonic... I'd also like to hear some more about so called 3'th party batteries... actually they are all 3'th party since ibm doesn't produce any(or?)...
I guess if one would be able to buy an original panasonic or a sanyo battery it would be as good as an original "ibm"(that is also a sanyo or panasonic or whatever else that got blessed by ibm). But there is where the problem lies... if you get a pana off e-bay can you be 100% sure it is a pana? or a sanyo for that matter?

just my take on a rather old topic

I guess I'll just get one, the price is really good and I'll try build an external charger(or is there such thing already?)

You might want to check and see if the new X32 battery is compatible with the X31. The new X32 battery has has been increased from 4.4 AH to 4.8 AH (Ampere-Hours) and the average time from 5.7 hrs to 6.1 hrs.
