Hey all,
I just got a Thinkpad T42 the other day, and I've put Ubuntu (Breezy) on it. I've gone to most of the websites on the different forums to configure different settings (IBM buttons, etc) but the only problem I'm having is getting Xorg to do more than 1024x768. The model I have has the ATI Radeon 7500, and I'm assuming I can go up to 1400x1050, but I just can't get it to work.
Here's my xorg.conf (slightly commented out based on different things I've tried from different sites):

Can someone give me some help on where I'm going wrong? I'm pulling my hair out with this at this point. It's really the only thing left I have to set up.
Thanks ahead of time....
EDIT: Never mind, I just noticed on the Lenovo site for this model that it only does 1024x768.
Thinkpad T42 (2373), Ubuntu and Video settings
Are you sure that this machine has the ATI Drivers loaded in it? I can't really see whether or not the display is limited to 1024X768, but I discovered that that was all it took to get X running at 1600 X 1200 on a 15" running Slackware. You can go to http://www.ati.com and look up the specific driver for your card, plus they've done a lot to get an automatic installer that does the job pretty well.
