#1 Post by Robert » Mon Oct 31, 2005 7:56 pm

Hi,

Can't detect dial tone. I hear it dial with steady noise, but no tone.

Been running well and now can't connect. Need help.

Cheers and Thanks,

Robert

Have you tried uninstalling the modem driver, and then reinstalling them?

You might even need to physically remove the modem, then reboot without it attached. I had to do this once, before it would "release" the line.

The 600E has a software modem. Part of the modem uses what's called the ThinkPad DSP. You can see this in Device Manager. You may have to uninstall the ThinkPad DSP as well as the modem, before you reinstall the drivers. Check the modem driver readme file for details.
