2373-3VU's accidentally have BT antenna?

#1 Post by scot » Tue Jul 06, 2004 1:49 pm

One person said that he installed the MDC w/Bluetooth in his educational model, which is not listed in TABOOK to have the antenna, but it seemed to have it anyway. Is anyone else this fortunate with theirs? I know Bill just sent out a pretty large order of these, has anyone by chance checked?

Thanks for the investigation!

Do you have a Thai keyboard?

I just ordered my 3VU and I hope it has the antenna. It was a tough choice turning down the 15" UXGA of the 7XU, but this is probably a better laptop for me.

If I recall correctly from seeing a post in this forum, it will say something to the effect of "made in Thailand" on the underside of the keyboard.

I think it's China, not Taiwan (or, the good keyboard is Thai, not Taiwan).

I'm sitting here with a 7XU and waiting for a 3VU to ship in. I can't wait to check out the differences - they've each got plusses and minuses and everyone will have their favorite :)

Kenn,

I assume you are looking forward to the svelte body of the 14"? I'm hoping that you think the Flexview is not too great to give up?

Hi Scot,

I absolutely love the 15. My fiance is not so obsessed with geekiness like 1600x1200 and will be getting the 14. That's what I call best of both worlds :)

Re: Flexview - I've never thought it was as stunning as Xbrite. It's a little brighter for sure, but the biggest benefit is being able to see a screen as large as 15" without having light-falloff at the edges due to the twist angle. The color still shifts slightly when you move left and right (yellow to the right, blue to the left), but whereas my regular LCD completely washes out if you look at it from above, the flexview stays perfectly visible. The corporate espionage ninjas trying to read my screen from the tiny camera embedded in the ceiling will undoubtedly thank me!
