One of my professors teaches with an X41T hooked up to the projector system in the lecture theatre, which is pretty cool, but it's been having this strange problem as he writes on it. Every once and a while in Windows Journal, a line will appear from where he's writing that goes to the bottom of the screen, or sometimes a narrow sort of figure eight will appear from the text. Obvously, this is a little disruptive and the time he loses erasing this makes him have to move even faster, so I'd love to be able to find a solution to this.
Any ideas? He told us that he bought a new pen, but the problem persists, so it probably isn't that. He's an engineer, so of course he wears an iron ring; could that be it?
Curious X41T problem...

I would recommend that he look into the problem being static discharge related. Sounds to me like while he is writing he is sending a shock down into the panel which in turn is making all the writing go wonky. Try having him ground himself before writing on it, and see what happens.
