User accounts, standby (sleep) and dropping wireless

#1 Post by JEBB » Fri Nov 11, 2005 7:28 pm

Either Lenovo or MS put an account on my Thinkpad named ASP.NET. Now, with a second account, when the screen goes to sleep I have to click on an icon of my account to awaken it. In the process my connection to the Internet is dropped. That didn't happen before that account got there. Is there a way to keep that from happening? I mean so that that icon doesn't come up.

My wireless connection is an Apple Extreme Base Station and I'm connected to the Internet thru a cable modem.

Info about the ASP.NET account is here:

The account has been around for a while (all of XP, IIRC and maybe before that). It is benign, so I don't think it is the cause of your issue. Check your screen saver that it is not wanting a password when it wakes up. ... JD Hurst
