Dual Monitors with a T41 in Port Replicator

I want to run dual external monitors off my T41 when in the office and attached to the port replicator. The port replicator has a VGA and a DVI port on the back. I purchased a DVI to VGA adapter that I assumed would allow me to attach one monitor to the VGA port and the other to the adapter then the DVI port. When I got the adapter, it does not fit the DVI port on the port replicator. I'm now using an external LCD as my primary and the T41 as secondary but the T41 screen is not the best setup.

Question for anyone who can help:
Can I run dual external LCD monitors off the port replicator?
Is there an adapter or do I need to get a DVI monitor.
Any other advice would be greatly appriciated.
