Hey Flatdog, I am struggling with the same problem (ie, the 3117-error) when I try to install the driver (either by using install.sh or the rpms). How did you solve the problem?

cheers,
konrad

Have had it working in SUSE 10.1 for some time now on the T60.

I imagine that if you've posted, then you've also reviewed the HOWTO containing links, directions, and a description of the quirks.

Cheers,

yes, i've read all i could find. unfortunately, mod_install will give that 3117-error. i also use opensuse 10.1 and tried versions 1.2.1 and 1.2.2 of libbioapi, also with the patches.

cheerio,

I assume you've already tried this:

------------------------------------------
You'll need to ensure that you're running as root and that the bsp is in
/usr/lib (not /usr/local). Try `cp libtfmessbsp.so /usr/lib/`
------------------------------------------

Describe your installation steps and the notebook you're using, the more detail, the better.

Thanks,

yes, of course. the fingerprint reader is a SGS Thomson Microelectronics Fingerprint Reader (manufacturer STMicroelectronics), so a model that was reported to work in many different articles. I use a toshiba portege m400 laptop computer.

Please tell us how you installed it or provide a link to the instructions you followed. I suck at mind-reading (just ask my wife).

If it is reported to work, then it probably does. You just need to backtrack and determine what was or wasn't done.

Cheers,
