Itunes app. download

#1 Post by rustico » Tue Nov 15, 2005 12:10 pm

I have a T42 (2379DXU). I was given an IPOD a month ago and have just attemted to download the ITUNES app. The download indicates that it was successful but when I try to load it nothing happens. I have uninstalled and reinstalled a number of times and have turned off my firewall (Norten). Is there some software/app conflict here between Windows and Mac/Apple? Quicktime works just fine if that is of any help.
I will welcome any and all input and advice concering this matter.
Thanks.

Does the same thing happen with the latest version?
There's no general problem with iTunes compatibility.
It works fine for me on 2 thinkpads.

To answer the questions asked. Yes even the current version does not open and to the best of my knowledge the installer and everything else appears to be there also. The download states that it was successful, but the ITUNES program simply does not want to open.
Thanks for your input.

I tried reinstalling iTunes. This time I recieved a "Send Error Report" message box from Microsoft stating that "iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close". I unintalled and tried once again and the same message appeared. This is the latest.

Only if you are interested:

IMO itunes is a horribly bloated piece of junk, that takes over a computer and is aimed at selling you their music.

Download a simple small prog called Anapod. I believe it has a free trial period and is a bargain at the regular price. Everyone I have recommended it to raves about it.
It gives you direct access to the ipod drive and lets you control your music and files on your tp. Definately not bloatware. When you exit the prog it is gone.
It is what itunes should have been.
