Waterfield case question

#1 Post by lugdunum » Tue Nov 15, 2005 3:02 pm

:?: I'm looking at Waterfield cases for my much anticipated X32. I intend to carry it as a sleeve in a briefcase - question: without the flap it appears I would have easy access to the computer when I have to pull it out for airport security, a big issue with me as I travel a lot. IF I have the flap, which offers more protection and the possibility of a carry-alone bag, is it hard to undo the flap while the sleeve is still in a briefcase? Do you have to take the whole thing out to undo the flap, or can it be undone easily while the computer is still wedged into a briefcase? Also, is the flap stiff or flexible?
I am really excited about this computer......have a 'ship date' of 12/01 that I hope is going to be moved up!

I DON'T have the flap (because I carry this sleeve inside my backpack wich already has a special place for laptop).

To pull out the computer I have to take the whole sleeve out, hold it on the bottom and pull the computer from the top. The reason for it is that the sleeve is tighten on the computer. It is not "hard" to do that, and the computer slips out with no problem, but you have to hold it. When I look on my sleev I can imagine where the flap is placed and I don't think it will make any additional "pull out" problems.

But it IS a wonderful sleeve. When I have to take my laptop out and walk with it through the campus I take it in the sleeve and it is really nice and very protective.
