Changing the System Beep Volume

#1 Post by JLai » Tue Nov 15, 2005 5:26 pm

This might be something simple, but I can't seem to figure out to change the system beep volume for the X41. Does anyone know how to?

Thanx ahead.

Have you tried using the volume down button on the keyboard?

I thought that was just for general volume control? I'm talking about the system beep...like the one on bootup.

Didn't think those buttons would work in Bios. I guess I'll try it later tonight when I reboot. Thanx.

I only hear the system beep when more than one button is pressed at a time. When my machine is on mute it doesn't make the beep sound at all.

So any idea how to lower that?

Honestly most of the time my X41 is on mute, so I'm not sure how to lower it but I don't think lowering the volume via the buttons on the keyboard will change it though.

You cannot change its volume. You can only mute it in the BIOS (what I did).
