7XU just arrived!

#1 Post by jbman » Wed Jul 07, 2004 9:35 pm

Talk about fast shipping. I ordered yesterday from my school's contractor, specified regular ground shipping (they're in Ohio, I'm in Cali).

I checked tracking this afternoon, and Airborne ground picked up the shipment yesterday night from the warehouse. Then my doorbell rings. Wow, glad I didn't pay extra for 2nd day air!

Nothing better than the delivery person with a new thinkpad in their hands. I am waiting for my T42p and the wait is unbearable. I'm throwing a party when I see the tracking say its "OUT FOR DELIVERY". I think I have told the specs to my wife like 20 times now. If her eyes roll any more they will fall out of her head. He he. :)

Yeah, you can easily drive your wife/girlfriend mad with a ThinkPad, because they feel less important, attractive... Solution? Buy her one too, like I did.

Really? That's great. How do I check/confirm?

Man, I hope this doesn't mean I'll be on a quest for a new bluetooth-enabled modem and indicator light/cover!

I can really relate to that. I think my GF is completely sick of hearing the good things about Thinkpads. I think I've got her convinced about Thinkpads being the best. She still thinks they're too masculine though.

Yesterday I got parts from IBM (modem/bluetooth, clear plate) and install both on my 2373-7XU. Thanks to forum precise information, no problems at all.

KaNo,

Where did you get the clear plate (front/back?) for 2373-7XU? Would you have the FRU number?

Thanks!

If you aren't too picky about the appearance, you can pull off the old LED covers and scratch off a little of the black from the sticky side of the cover where the BT LED shines. Reinstall the LED cover and you'll now be able to see the BT LED (albeit as a blob :-) ).
