T42 display with a dell 2001FP
hi,
i have a T42 and am using it with a dell 20001FP LCD.
i am not able to get 1600 x 1200 display. when i set it to 1600 x 1200 it gives me a display area greater than the screen area.( this happens only with the dvi mode. if i go to the vga mode i get 1600 x 1200)
my display driver is the latest ibm 8.133.2 version and my control panel is 6.14.10.5254.
is there any way i can get the dvi display of 1600 x 1200.
i am using it with 60hz and 32 colors or 16 colors.
is there anyway i can get it to work.
P.S: i tried to get it to work with the november drivers from this site, but no use in that.
i even tried using presentation manager as told in http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.ph ... w&start=30
it gives an error asking me to change the resolution and frequency stuff like that.
any help would be appreciated.

sorry for the terse reply - but I'm too lazy to do the leg work...
I'm using a T42 w/ the newer Dell 21" wide screen, and if I recall, I had to load some new drivers, and apply some patch to the system. I read about it here, so do a search for the various monitor product #'s and you might find something that will help out...but mybe not?
Oh! And keep you eyes open in those threads for mention of registry changes that might crash your machine...it was pretty ugly for a while, if I remember correctly...

HI,
I also have a 2001FP and T42. You can go to this link
http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.ph ... 3&start=30
and change the registry as Riddil suggested.
