Automatic update

I wondered if my thinkpad could be brought up to date automatically like windows update. Does IBM provide that service ?

Don't know which TP you have but should be an IBM icon that will lead you to the IBM update page. My T42p is set up to show me if I have an messages or updates form IBM.

I would not want them to update automatically and would like to make that choice.

IBM Message Center should notify you about new updates (you have to set your model number and OS version in Preferences). You can also use IBM Update Connector. It's a nice utility if the IBM update server is not down.

Have you noticed that their server was down, too. I have tried 2 times with the server being down in the last few weeks. I got on yesterday. You would think that IBM could keep their server up. <vbg>

Yeah, probably they are using a Dell server.
