Hi madmatrix
Thanks for the detailed reply. I know what instructions you gave me, but I want to know where you get the PAC file for Access Connections. Windows seems to have it natively. In your case it is the Equifax Certificate Authority.
help.

Just confirming that the above procedures worked A-OK for mekai920 wrote:Does this sound like the right procedure? I currently have AC 3.71 and wireless drivers 9.0.1.21 installed and planning to upgrade later tonight:
1. uninstall AC3.71
2. uninstall "Intel PRO/Set wireless software" in control panel's add/remove.
3. install updated 9.0.2.31 drivers for my 2200BG
4. install AC4.0
btw, davidspalding, thanks for those screen captures!
Definite improvement in connection quality over the old drivers.

anyone experiencing stability problems with AC 4.0? In the past 2 days AC has randomly crashed 4 times. When I say random, I mean I will just be doing something totally unrealted to AC (surfing the net, working in MSWord) and AC, wireless status tray icon, and the AC windows service all three bomb and I have to restart my thinkpad to get them to start again (just launching AC from the start menu doesn't work).
anyone else? if not, maybe i'll roll back to 3.81 until the next version... my machine is a very clean build (about 3 weeks ago), so I know it's not that my machine is cluttered with junk.
The only thing that has changed is I bought a Mini Dock. When I want to undock I press Fn+F9 and click on the minidock. Although I can't seem to get AC to automatically refuse wireless connections while docked aside from Fn+F5 and turning off the wireless radio (It always has a wired connection when docked).

According to a related thread here, [edit; thanks, Leion!] 4.0.1 [/edit] has been released. I can't confirm or deny the validity of this report....
