T43 FPR Heat production

Hi,

I just wanna know if anyone knows if the FPR produces some heat ?

The Fingerprint Reader has a Small Coprocessor Chip...but, as far as I have used it, it hasn't produced noticable heat. The Hard drive under it would get warmer than the FPR itself. Then again, the HDD doesn't get that warm either; it all depends on how much you use the HDD. The FPR doesn't add to the Heat. :)

I assume that a warm right palm rest is the price to pay for a 7200 rpm HDD !!!

yes. The 7200 will generate a little bit more heat.

Part of the issue is also that the T42/T43 places the HD pretty close to the surface, so your hand isn't to far above the HD. Thanks to the slim design. So that makes it a bit easier to notice.
