Network taskbar icons

#1 Post by astpaul » Thu Jul 08, 2004 2:01 pm

As the T42 has several 3 network potential connection types, Windows has created 3 Network Icons.
When they are not connected (e.g. 2 of them are, most of the time), a small icon appears in the taskbar.
Anybody has an idea how to get rid of them besides:
- disable them,
- hide them (because it seems that windows generates them each time you reboot so you'd have to re-hide them each time).

Any clue ?

I believe there is a checkbox in the windows network setup "show connection in system tray". Try unchecking that (one for wireless, one for ethernet and one for bridge). They look like little TVs in the system tray?

yes that's it.
The checkbox you mention is valid only 'when connected', so.... my problem being when i'm disconnected :))
