fan problem being fixed? and notes on new software installer

I just bought a T43 2668AJU for my gf. During the software installation, I find that the fan problem is less servere than my T43 2669CEU I bought in August. The fan speed is adjusted properly and less noisy. Isn't it than Lenovo has fixed this problem.

And I also notice that in the new system, the software installer is different from my 2669CEU, where it is called Thinkpad software installer. It's not only the name difference. The version is also different. And in the new software installer, the softwares it found are much newer than what the old one can find. It seems strange to me that thinkpad software doesn't notice that there is a new version available and therefore I go to ibm website, get the new software installer(which is listed in the download section for 2669CEU). Then the new software installer fetchs all the neww stuffs for me. Sounds great. And one interesting thing is that the new icons for the new softwate have a different theme. Funny.
