Notebook Nightmare

#1 Post by Kyocera » Fri Nov 25, 2005 8:11 pm

Tempers flared at a Wal-Mart in Orlando, Fla., where a man allegedly cut in line to buy a bargain notebook computer and was wrestled to the ground, according to a video shown by an ABC affiliate, WFTV-TV.

Discounted notebooks, particularly the $378 HP Pavilion notebooks, were not the only attractions at Wal-Mart,

I could see getting severely pummeled for a Thinkpad, but an HP??

Wasn't this the same place where they trampled over the elderly lady on the way in? Seems like this happens at a Wal-Mart every year...unbelievable...

Companies like Microsoft hype up this junk and release just a small amount to accentuate the hype even more. (Look at the free advertizing they are getting on the news.) I'm waiting for some ballsy state Attorney General pursuing criminal charges against them for this practice. (They pulled the same crap with Xbox, and people were also hurt then.)

BTW, if you are wanting an Xbox 360, wait till after Christmas rather than paying exhorbitant prices/waiting in lines. My source inside Microsoft (my son) tells me there will be plenty after the holiday.
