A30 Lid Switch Repair

#1 Post by r. aster » Sun Nov 27, 2005 4:35 pm

Hey guys,

The lid switch on my ThinkPad A30 started getting flaky, so I poked it a little to test function and see if I could get it working.

Anyone guess where this is going?

The little black button disappeared down the hole. Bye. Good news is, no other harm done. Question is, what must I disassemble to get to the button to attempt to repair it? Best guess from the HMM is the keyboard bezel, which looks like a keyboard removal and then 5 screws on the bottom, although I can't quite see where the 5th is.

Advise, anyone? Thanks.

Have you been to IBM's site? They have some pretty cool videos showing how to do most stuff listed in the HMMs.
