hard drive stops when i slowly tilt the laptop

i have an x40 with the active hard drive protection on. when i tilt the laptop ever so slowly the hard drive pauses. even when i set it to low sensitivity. is this normal?

There should be a checkbox for something about "ingore things like small bumps you'd encounter on a train" or something....I forget exactly what it says, but it made mine work much better!
