Brand new T43 -- stuck after bootup?

Hi All,

A friend has a new T43 that just arrived today from Lenovo. He boots up XP, and an app called "System Preparation Tool 2.0" starts up, offering him these options: "Factory", "Audit", or "Reseal"

I'm trying to help him over my cell phone, but I have no idea what this app is for. His system doesn't appear to be "complete" -- IOW, it doesn't seem that the factory finished installing XP. I say this because I told him (at first) just to ignore the app and use XP, but, for example, there is no "Windows" folder on his C drive, just a folder called "Factory". Also, his system has no name, no network settings, no group, etc, etc.

Anyone know what this app is about?

I haven't encountered this problem. I think it should be the problem of factory. They seem haven't already finished installiing. You can let your friend call the service of Lenovo firstly.

tell him to turn on the laptop, press F11 and restore factory contents fo fix that
