I guess we will soon see a T50/60 with a dual core Yonah that is not too expensive

So does that mean I can pull out the Dothan chip from the T43 and swap in the Yonah? Or do I need to get another motherboard from IBM?

No dice. Yonah is going to use a different socket and a different chipset than Dothan. There won't be any dual-cores in the T43.
