does anyone else hear beeps coming out of the left side?

i know i've posted on this before, but the beep really is annoying...

I have a t41, 2373, and after using the computer for a while without rebooting, a beep emits out of the left side of the thinkpad everytime i minimiz or maximize a window. It is one beep for every window minimized or maximized. The beep goes away only when i restart the computer. It remains if I hibernate or standby and the resume. I called ibm tech support and they have no idea what is causing it. Someone on the forum has suggested it being a video card issue, but i tested the way he did and did not get the beep and his remedies did not fix my situation.

So, i was just wondering if this is normal and if anyone else is experiencing this, or better yet, has experienced this and discovered a fix for it.

I have a t40p, and you know, I hear some beeps as well. They are NOT system beeps, they are very faint, but I hear them - Usually, I just take a break...

At least is not voices, like other people hear them from their ThinkPads

I had the same problem with my A20p when I hooked it up to external speakers. It was a faint pulsing beep that came out of the speakers. It wasn't the speakers, I tried them on all my laptops. Really annoying.

this doesn't have anything to do with the speakers though. it happens when the speakers are muted. it comes and it goes. it starts up after about hour and a half or so. then i goes. then it comes back. do you all think it's a defect? i'm still (barely) in that 30 day return window.

my T41 also has this faint beep thing when i minimize and maximize a window.... i believe this is normal... also if i put my ear near the fan vent i would also fear very faint beeps (about 4) every 5 sec. or so... i only hear those when its very quiet late at night. not sure if this is normal as well

dang it. it's actually getting really annoying becuase i move between applications a lot.

stingray, the beep you hear with your fan has been the subject of numerous threads. try searching the old forum or even this new forum. people have referred to the noise as a pop or a click too. i believe one solution offered was to replace the fan with a different type of fan.
