R40 Keyboard disabled

#1 Post by dadcat1 » Fri Dec 02, 2005 1:34 pm

I had to reinstall XP from an OEM CD. Since then, it seems that the laptop keyboard is disabled. It works find up to the point where XP is loaded. Does anyone understand this phenomenon? I can use an external keyboard and mouse but the laptop's trackpoint and keyboard are disabled. I have run system diagnostics and everything appears fine.

Any suggestions how to overcome this problem?

i have experienced similar problems
just use an external (usb/ps2) keyboard while installing
after the installation is finished, all will work well onder windows!
don't know why this happens, maybe drivers of the thinkpad keyboard are not loaded when installing windows from scratch

good luck
