X40 Case Ideas
X40 Case Ideas
I do a lot of traveling with my laptop as it comes to all my clients with me. I'm looking for something reasonably small and light. This one looks somewhat close to what I want:

The one problem with it is that it doesn't have enough room. I also carry a paper notebook, and a file folder or two with some paperwork. That particular case looks like it only has that front pocket in addition to the area where the laptop goes.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

See my other thread for a quick review of the Booq Boa XS. I also have a Madison 1200 from Lowepro that is still my favourite for traveling (i do roughly three round-the-world trips each year; i.e., NZ - N America - UK - Asia - back to NZ), so I'm always on the lookout for the best carry-on bag.
My review (ages old, back when I had an R32) of the Madison 1200: http://www.epinions.com/content_83657199236
Also have an STM Sphere which is quite nice for travel (http://www.stmbags.com.au/smallsphere), but probably not the best for impressing clients.

Sorry, Madison 1200 no longer in production. Looks like it was replaced by the EX 1200, which looks better actually:

I like the Foley XS: http://www.booqbags.com/Detail.bok?no=437
However, it's well over the $100 I was planning on spending. I'd really like to keep it under $100.

Thinkpad
I got the Thinkpad "premier" leather case with my X41 Tablet and love it. Due to the small size of the X series there is space on the other side of the "partition" in the main compartment for the power supply. The leather seems to be of high quality and the padding is generous as well. With the external compartment there is space for a thin (1") paper notebook and or files. I also have room for a pocket day planner, I-Pod, keys, phone etc. There is also a pocket on the back side that would also accomidate thin files. I think this is a good size for most case needs. So far I am very happy with this case and not to mention computer as well. Hope this helps.
