570 bios password

I am syre this has been covered before but I cant find what I need so.....I I am looking at a TP 570 that the seller says is bios password protected and he cant remember the code....wont it work to just disconnect the cmos battery for a few seconds to reset the bios?

No !
I´m sure , Bios PWD means Supuervisor Password (SVP).
It´s possible to "unlock ibm" TP570 , but it takes tame to
learn , "how to read" , + you - or someone you know -
have to do some fine-soldering on the board.
