Yep, 'bout [censored] time. However, it only looks like they've fixed a couple blue screen issues. Can anyone confirm if they're using a newer version of the ATI Driver set?

You can't compare those versions. The 6.14.10.xxx is ATI's revision numbering scheme and the 8.163.1.1 is IBM/Lenovo's.
The 11/30/2004 driver you refer to as the old driver was IBM version 8.082.2.xxx.
For this release, it looks like they just replaced ATI's v#'s with IBM's.
I already installed the update, but am waiting for a video to finish rendering so I can restart.

Looks like the OP edited the post. But from the Matrix, doesn't look like the FGLT2/MR9600 on the T42 series is supported. Boo.cwestwater wrote:mmm yes they are... Find a direct link hereandrey wrote:what's the link to get these drivers? They're not in Driver Matrix yet...

In the release notes, Lenovo did not mention anything related to the driver, instead all the updates and fixes are for WinDVD

Does anybody know what this will do to the suspend and resume times?
I updated just last night and it seemed to increase the time it takes to suspend; not a welcome thing. So far, I have been used to 5 Second or less suspends. I willl test it out more today and try it again.
EDIT: ***ISSUE RESOLVED***
Well, I do think I had a few extra processes running that tied up the system while it was trying to suspend or resume, now I have my 5 Second Suspend time back again,
; that, by the way, is another reason I love Thinkpads. The suspend times are near instant compared to some other laptops out there. The worst I have ever experienced was my old HP ze5700 Series Laptop. It would *NOT* suspend reliably even out of the box with the factory drivers; which, might I add, were about 1.5 Years old and it had no system update utility.

I met someone who looks a lot like you.
She does the things you do.
But she is an IBM.

Grr, I finally was able to restart my laptop & the new drivers don't work with XP Media Center Edition 2005. Back to 6.14.10.6497 for me
6.14.10.6497 are the ONLY drivers (ATI, Omega, Microsoft, IBM/Lenovo) that I've been able to get working with the X300 on a T43 & MCE 2005.
BTW, does anyone have the IBM downloadable executable for the old driver?
I've been trying to find it since the lastest one from IBM doesn't work with my setup.

Have you looked in the C:\IBMTOOLS\DRIVERS\VIDEO\ directory? If you didn't delete it, it should have the video driver that shipped with your system.JHaislet wrote:BTW, does anyone have the IBM downloadable executable for the old driver?

Yeah, I've got the drivers, no problem there, I was just thinking it would be easier to keep up with the drivers if I had them in an EXE. I'll just zip that folder & be done with it

My Software Installer wasn't working the other night ... it is now, and -- the new ATI drivers show up on the update matrix.
I ran the Omega drivers for a few weeks, they resolved some shortcomings of the IBM/ATI drivers, but also introduced some oddities (blinking/shaking during suspend, some repeated on/off when booting with an external Sony CPD200sf monitor). I'm curious to see what, if any, improvements these new drivers introduce. Stay tuned and wish me luck. :P
(For those interested.... Currently installed: 8.133-050510a-024101C-IBM, Installing: 8.163.1.1-051004a-027800C-IBM)
