How to use my S-Video output for my InterVideo WinDVD?
On my T42s, How to use my S-Video output for my InterVideo WinDVD?
Want to see my DVD's on my TV, but apparently the version of InterVideo WinDVD given by IBM was the crippled version--you can't do above function.
1. any way to work around this limit?
2. any other freeware program that can do this?

I have a T42 with the ATI Radeon 9000. I am using the latest driver from IBM's site: 8.133.2.050525a-024243C-IBM (as reported by ThinkVantage Software Installer). On the ATI adapter driver page, it lists the driver as version 6.14.10.6546.
On the page that shows "Hue/Saturation/etc.", below the box containing these adjustments is a button labeled: "Theater mode options....". Click on this button to get to the next page of settings.
BTW, I assume that you are able to see your desktop on the TV. If not, you need to turn on the TV under the Displays tab in the ATI advanced settings page (TV must be connected first).
EDIT: I am also using Windows XP Pro. Here is a link to the driver for Windows 2000 and XP. Video driver (ATI Radeon, FireGL Series) for Windows 2000/XP - ThinkPad A31/p, R40/e, R50/p, R51 (1829, 1830, 1831, 1836), T30, T40/p, T41/p, T42/p, X31, X32
If you are using a different version of Windows, you need a different driver. Download and follow the instuctions in the readme file for upgrading the driver.

You might not have the TV device installed in the hardware manager. Check if this is the case.
Right click "My Computer", pick the Hardware tab, click on Device Manager and check in the Monitors mode. You should see 4 devices, your Thinkpad display, 2 external displays and a Generic TV device.

I can do this, easily. On Display properties (DESK.CPL for those like me who love the Start | Run command), under the last tab (Settings, I think), check hte "Extend my desktop onto this monitor" and I can drag hte InterVideo (or Windows Media Player) over to the TV end of the extended desktop.
Speaking of which ... have you tried using Windows Media Player?
