Plz help! Hotkey (Fn+F5) on/off problem for Wireless!

#1 Post by martinmm » Tue Dec 06, 2005 2:52 am

Hi help!

I recieved my new T41 and have just started testing it. I have found there is a problem with turning the wireless lan (intel b/g) card on and off through the on screen menu (Fn+F5). It is not a problem turning bluetooth on and off that way...
I can turn the wireless card off through system properties in control panel (light below screen goes off), but its a long way to go each time. Do you have an idea to solve my problem?

The computer was bought from the retailer with the WLAN b/g...
- think the wlan card is intel PRO 2200BG

I am pretty new to IBM tools, so it might just be a setting, but I cant seem to find it.

- hope you can help me...

Thanks,
martinmm

Mmmmm, this sounds like the Fn+F5 problem

Have you looked at this thread?

To christopher_wolf:

Please dont direct to threads with none or very little information about the problem described - the thread you linked to didn't contain any important information.

To everyone else:

...my problem is still not solved, please help me if you can.

Thanks!

To martinmm:

I would always do a forum search beofre you ask; also it would be a good idea to *read through* the problems other people are having as well. If you will note, the link that GomJabber posted is similar to the thread I linked to. Also, if you would both to note, I had the same problem awhile back and managed to resolve it successfully; but as you prefer...

Good Luck

If you want to get help here, don't be rude to those who try to help you whether it solves your problem or not.
