My T23 drops the USB mouse every now an then... HELP!

#1 Post by beeblebrox » Tue Dec 06, 2005 8:59 am

Folks,
I have checked the forum to no success for my problem. My T23 drops the mouse every few minutes, it blings, and then the mouse is recognized again after a few seconds. I can see it at the mouse LED, which goes off and on.

Of course, I reinstalled the mouse driver, checked the USB settings for power management... nothing!

At the same port (powered by supply) is a large hard drive and USB DVD, they work unimpressed, only the whimpy Microsoft mouse is affected.
Anyone has some clue on that strange behavior?
Thx for help!

I experienced this before, a no. of possibilities:

1. Connection of mouse and the usb port,
2. Intermittent fault from the mouse
3. From 1 & 2, borrow new mouse, if fault occurs, then it must be the connection, at the port, if fault disaappears, then 1st mouse is faulty.

cheers...
Hi everyone

Yes,
thanks for the information. I thought about it, too.

But I have the T23 and the T40p in the same port replicator, even when I plug in the stuff by hand I have the same problems. The T40p runs just fine all day. T23 is a loser.

There was one here in the forum who had exactly the same problems on his T23, but I could not find the thread anymore.

Potentially the power settings? Or driver guidelines?

ok, I found out that the USB Port is scanned every few minutes. All connections, also the DVD Burner etc. are disconnected, recognized again and reconnected. Thus, the mouse is disabled as well for a few seconds. It drives me nuts.
I fooled around with all driver and power management settings for the USB, no success so far.
Does anyone have any idea?
