damaged sectors at my harddisk after installing Linux?

#1 Post by Sternenschwaermer » Wed Dec 07, 2005 9:41 am

Dear colleagues!

Sorry for cross postings, I normally don't do that...

I've got damaged sectors, tells me drive fitness test from Hitachi, and maybe it's from installing Linux, more exactly Suse Linux 10.

You can read more in the general section here about thinkpads here, where hardware and software is discussed.

Thanks for your help.

Thinkpad T41 P
Windows XP Professional
EcomStation 1.2
SUSE Linux Professional 9.2
(was not able to install SUSE 9.1 at my T41P, whatever I tried, only 9.2 worked.

Continue to not do that. It's against forum policy.
