problem with pro2200bg wireless minipci card

#1 Post by mlli4 » Wed Dec 07, 2005 7:11 pm

I have an IBM T42 23746vu for one year. The wireless card is an intel pro2200bg card. It used to work great. It was fast and stable. But recently, it drops connection frequently and much slower than it was. And I use another cardbus wireless card to check my router, it works fine. So I am almost sure it is my mini pci card went wrong. Anyone has the same problem? Is it possible to ask IBM to send me a replacement for my 2200BG card? I am in warranty?

I've experienced pretty often (5 or 6 mins) connection drops with the 3com access point with my Intel card -- I just rolled back to the previous wifi driver and voila everything works fine now.

So, it *could* be just the driver. But if you rule that out for some reason, I'd call IBM for warranty info.

yeah INTEL wireless drivers can be picky sometimes...try using a newer or older driver version.

you can call IBM service, if they think the wifi card is bad, they will send you a replacement one first, then you send them the old card.
