IE v7.0 and Client Security Password Manager

#1 Post by krma-thkpds » Thu Dec 08, 2005 8:54 am

I just downloaded the beta version of new Internet Explorer and foud out that Password Manager doesn't work with it. Does anyone here use IE 7.0 and Password Manager togather? Is there a way to keep Password Manager working or will I have to wait for release of new IE and updated Password Manager?

Internet Explorer 7.0 Beta 1 is intended only for subscribing members of the Microsoft Devepment Network (MSDN), not for the general public. You must be a paid MSDN subscriber to download it from the official site. It does not include all features that will be available with the general release as it is intended soley for developers.

Yup; then again, I use firefox and CSS works fine with it. If you are beta-testing that version of IE, you might as well raise that as an issue; so when the release candidate comes out, at least they will have an idea of what specialized problems there are out there. :)

What? IBM Password Manager works with Firefox? Never heard about that before. Or what do you mean with Firefox and CSS?

For me, Firefox and CSS work fine together; just used it right now. :)

Firefox 1.5 and CSS work fine, as do Netscape and CSS.

Christopher, you surely don't mean firefox works with IBM's CSS password manager or the other way around do you? If so, how the heck did you get it working? Whenever I drag a login or password to a field it selects the entire page instead. CSS password manager works really well with IE but not much else. BTW, which version of CSS are you using?

Christoper, are you using CSS version prior to 6. I am using version 6 and I have the same experience with user Icantux.

Somehow I don't think he got the login and password thing working with firefox - perhaps just the password. CSS passman (password manager) seems only to remember the password for firefox but not the login coupled with a password, but it will not remember both login and password in IE.
