The only problem (re: links) is that some people can't click on links, depending on what they are software they are using. Some will copy and paste.
I agree with the problem with the images, sliding left and right to be able to read text can be very frustrating.
Another thing to remind others of, is that when you aren't the OP for a thread, DO NOT ADD PHOTOS, unless the thread already has a [IMG] warning in the title. There are many users that dial in with cell phones or very slow modems, and the images drastically slow down their connectivity. If you aren't the OP, then use a link to a photo. This is one of the "Rules" of the forum, and it seems to be overlooked everyday.

Re: Posting links/pics suggestion
Some of us are color blind (such as myself) and I almost always miss links like this. If the link is written out as www.blahblah... I can always see it & know it's a link.LtTPfan wrote:Example: This Shortcut Name links to this thread.

If you are the original poster, I'm sure that the mods won't mind, infact it helps people determine whether or not to click on the link at all, but again it would need the [IMG] warning in the topic line.
As far as adding to someone elses thread, I have seen the mods remove even a 9kb preview pic. The reason is because those with limited dial up capabilites, including one of the mods, are slowed down by even the smallest thing.

Interesting about this colorblind thing - can't see the links easily or at all. It wasn't something that I ever considered. I'll see if I can make the links I post more visible in the future.
If one posts an actual web address, often times this address is quite long, resulting in the horizontal scrolling problem listed above. This is the main reason that I prefer links. It's a pain to have to scoll the page horizontally to read all the text. And it only takes one poster in the thread to cause this.
BTW, I do post the web address and not a link for any threads I reference on this forum. This way the reader will quickly realize that what I am referencing comes from somewhere else on forum.thinkpads.com. Maybe they will also realize that they could have searched for and found the information for themselves on forum.thinkpads.com.

I'm not color blind. They are the same color.LtTPfan wrote: Perhaps I'm color blind as a shortcut link and a full link appear the same color to me.
Here's an example: (SHORTCUT LINK) vs. http://www.mysuperlongassboguslink.ext.
I was trying the following color. (dark red SHORTCUT LINK) Is this any better? Would you prefer an underline to a color change, such as (underlined SHORTCUT LINK)
What I am not clear on - is if you can't hardly see the text if it is blue, or rather it just looks the same as the black text. Are there certain colors that are more easily seen?
