How to install my wireless card and "network controller

#1 Post by Usmani » Thu Dec 08, 2005 5:05 pm

hi,

I bought a R31 last year. It came with everything installed. Unfortunately, my old harddisk got messed up (it became very slow), so I had to replace it. I got XP Professional installed on my new disk.

Unfortunately, I have some problems (I am a novice!).

1) My wireless card has suddenly disappeared! I have no idea on how to go about installing it, and I dont even really know what make it was!
2) I keep getting "New Hardware Found"...and this is Network Controller, but I dont know what the driver for this is!
3) I also want to know how I can get my thinkpad buttons like the volume to work. They dont work anymore.

Any help would be very appreciated!

Thanks.

You can find out which wireless card you have from the first link below.

If you wish to install drivers manually, you can get them from the second link below.

You can use the ThinkVantage Software Installer to install all of your drivers and software from the third link below. Software Installer also lets you choose which drivers and software to install. Uncheck any boxes for software or drivers that you don't want, when the dialog box with the boxes shows up.
