Hello,
I've been trying to assist my brother in purchasing a new laptop. He is in the military and needs a solid notebook so a Thinkpad seems like a natural fit. Performance isn't critical, but good enough to last several years (1.7GHz+, Radeon 9600 min). A 15" screen is prefered, and ideally higher than XGA resolution. Condition can be used in excellent shape, refurb or new. Offers between $1000 and $1500 will be considered. I am also considering the HP NC6230 if I cannot find a Thinkpad in budget.

Payment must be done by escrow.com, escrow through thinkpads.com or local pickup since we were recently set back quite a bit of money "purchasing" a laptop on eBay

Thank you for the link Nonny. I will keep this in mind but am still interested in used, refurb and new-old-stock offers anyone may have.
