Booting from a USB pendrive on a G41

#1 Post by porktree » Sun Dec 11, 2005 10:42 pm

I am having an awful time gettiing my G41 to boot from a usb device. I have a copy of DSL ([censored] Small Linux - http://www.[censored].org) that fits on a 64mb pendrive. I can use the pendrive to boot my desktop and other laptops just fine. But, when I try it on the G41 I get a "Mission Operating System" error. If I dupe the pendrive to a CD, I can boot the G41 from the CD. This indicates to me there is something odd about booting from a usb device for the G41. I have tried dissabling quickboot with no joy. I am open to any ideas :) Thanks. (BTW, the same pendrive will boot a Dell, but not the other g41 in the office).
